Clawset Cafe, When Food Isn't Enough Without a Furry Companion.

Clawset is a pet concept cafe where customers could bring their pets along and have a meal or touch the adorable animals that frolic among the diners. You could actually order a meal for your pet too, using the pet's special menu available.

We rubbed our hands profusely with a hand sanitizer located at the front of the door before coming in. Wouldn't want to bring in any harmful germs or parasites to harm the dogs and cats that make up residence here. For an animal cafe with an assortment of animals shedding their fur occasionally and doing toilet business, Clawset Cafe maintains a very hygienic environment. Not a puddle of animal urine or poop detected on the floor. Most of the dogs were wearing pampers and the others were toilet trained.

Dear Xiao Wen, comfortable and in her elements here. It was quite a feat to be able to tame that dog. That furious ball of fur sat submissively in her arms, panting lightly. A moment ago, it was darting around like a lightning bolt, discharging kinetic energy in all directions.

A pair of doggies with really fancy costumes greeted our arrival. They look bubbly and happy, running about in circles, chasing their tails and occasionally nibbling at my bag. NOT COOL!

This dog looks like it has just smoked a pot of weed and is contemplating the purpose of life and all its mysteries. Don't think too much doggy, you will only hurt yourself.

Sitting all alone in the corner. Apparently introversion is not a psychological condition reserved to humans. Well, I don't judge, not as long as you aren't hurting anybody.

Love is in the air at Clawset Cafe. Although the male is having a "hard" time due to his pampers aka chastity device. This is a good situation of "can see, cannot touch."

Five star business acumen detected, this super furry cute cat is placed strategically beside a basket, filled with kitty treats. The cat will get triggered when you approach it, mewing profusely and pleading to you with big, cute, wet eyes, imploring you to buy it a treat. This felines are strangely at ease here with the other canine denizens. Due to its extremely effective methodology of persuasion, I am calling this cat, Salesman Cat.....well it is a male....right?

The kitty treat consist of liquid tuna. Peeling back the plastic packet, a sweet smelling aroma of fish was released into the atmosphere, garnering the attention of the other cats. It was a matter of moment before they started clawing at our pants, attempting to get at the treat. At RM3.00 per pack, you could easily get the animals all riled up and orbiting you. A fair price to pay for the experience.

Our resident animal expert. Wai Jin aspires to be a veterinarian but decided to enroll in Taylor's University, doing script writing and broadcasting. Here we observe his nurturing touch on Salesman Cat.

Salesman Cat perched himself from a vantage point as he licked the tuna fluid from Wai Jin's index finger. Salesman Cat's colleagues foolishly jumped up and down from the ground, attempting to reach the fluid covered finger, but to no avail. We now know which cat is at the highest hierarchy in this cafe. Salesman Cat is the smartest among them all, and he knows it.

It took quite a while for our food to arrive. I'm not sure if this is part of the business trick to allow customers to have time to play with their pets and perhaps, grab a few merchandise off the store while they were waiting for their meals. The wait was long. It took almost 30 minutes for the food to arrive and it was just plain old spaghetti with sauce. There wasn't much people there anyway. At average, per meal is priced around RM20.00 and the food isn't exactly good either. As customers, we indirectly pay for the animal environment that this concept revolves around.

Black pepper, tomato sauce and beef balls with spaghetti, nothing much to discuss here. Verdict: normal.....nothing to see here, move along now....

A generous helping of grilled mushroom makes this spaghetti a good deal. The scent of earthy mushrooms, simmered in rich sauce until a beautiful brown, now that is a heavenly combination. The shaving of herbs that decorate this meal however was a tad too chunky, making my experience a rather unpleasant one. A sleek noodle is best off without hard stuffs embedded inside it. Picking your mouth and teeth isn't fun.

Pieces of ham adorn this spaghetti, with a slight topping of tomato gravy. Not much from the taste department. Verdict: abysmal

So this is how the world's art gallery would look like if the civilized society is made up of canines. Not bad.... not bad at all.....

Squishy toys for the restless animal to grind on. This place is an animal's equivalent of Toys R Us. Shampoos line the shelves, boasting their ability to stop excessive fur shedding for your feline and canine friends. I was wondering if a dog shampoo could actually be used for human hair. Such a philosophical question..... an experiment is needed. An ingenious idea....now we just need a volunteer....

When making your pet's life difficult isn't enough, owners could also buy ridiculous costumes to dress their dogs....eye rolling....

The judges have been satisfied and now we are ready to give the verdict.
